Wills, Raymond T. (fl.1980s-2020s)He graduated with BSc (Hons) from University of Western Australia in 1983.
Awarded a PhD from from University of Western Australia in 1989.
Ray was a Research Scientist, Department of Conservation and Land Management WA from 1988 to 1996.
He joined Kings Park from 1996 to 2001 following the decision to cede Bold Park to the management of Kings Park with the formation of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority in 1998. The management of this park required specific skills in restoration ecology. Wills developed
research programs to enhance bushland management in Bold Park and Kings Park.
He was Principal Research Officer, Parliament of Western Australia from 2001-2004.
He became Adjunct Senior Research Fellow, The University of Western Australia (UWA) from 1996-2009.
In 2009 he was made Adjunct Professor, School of Earth and Environment, UWA.
Professor Ray Wills has more than 40 years experience in a wide-ranging career at different times as a researcher, academic, planner, consultant, adviser, manager, executive, business owner, author, commentator, entrepreneur and futurist and has worked in private enterprise and for government, Parliament, industry bodies, NGOs and educational institutions.
He is also Managing Director of Future Smart Strategies, an advisory firm providing expertise and strategic advice on future energy scenarios and the planning of giga-scale energy developments in Australia, and has developed the largest hybrid solar / battery storage project in Western Australia.
