Born in 1945.
She graduated from the University of Western Australia with a PhD for her thesis, "A systematic study of Lasiopetaleae" in 2022.
She worked for the Western Australian Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions in the Western Australian Herbarium.
More recently she worked as a Botanical Consultant, and a Research Associate at the Herbarium and an Adjunct Lecturer, Research Scientist, School of Plant Biology, Faculty of Natural &
Agricultural Sciences, The University of Western Australia.
Her revision of the firebush genus Seringia (which includes species formerly known as Keraudrenia) was published in Australian Systematic Botany in 2015.
This work completes Carol's sextet on the Malvaceae, which has included full taxonomic revisions of Androcalva, Commersonia, Guichenotia, Hannafordia and Lysiosepalum.
She has revised the genera, Jacksonia and worked on the Mirbelieae group in the broad family Fabaceae.
