Hawkeswood, Trevor John   (1956 -  )

Born on 10 September 1956 in Brisbane, Queensland;

Since an early age, he was interested in the wonders of nature since first exposed to plants and animals as a child of about 8 years old when my parents were living on the edge of a sandstone plateau in the lower Blue Mountains at Glenbrook NSW.

He remembers writing a small paper and illustrating it when he was about 10 years old. He illustrated a number of beetles which he had found in the neighbourhood and their food plants.

His father was in the Royal Australian Air Force and they were posted to various places throughout eastern Australia over a 20-year period.

Eventually his father was transferred to Malaysia, and by the time Trevor first went to Malaysia in 1977 he had already completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of New England, Armidale, NSW.

While he was at the University of New England (UNE), he wrote his first natural history article on beetles, two introductory plant articles for Australian Plants as well as published my first scientific paper on jewel beetles in the journal, The Australian Zoologist.

After completing his Honours degree at UNE he went to Perth, WA in 1979.
During 1979-1980, he explored much of the south-western area of Western Australia and eventually wrote numerous papers on the flora and fauna of WA.

Over the next thirty years he "published 3 books and almost 400 scientific papers and other articles".

The 'overview' for his book 'Light and Dark' (2013) states:

"Trevor J. Hawkeswood is a scientist who has experienced hundreds of paranormal events in his lifetime.

In Light and Dark, he recounts some of these incredible interactions.

He believes that reality occurs on two separate but interwoven planes of existence — the Earth plane and the multiple levels of the spiritual planes, including the lower levels, from where the dark souls of humans who have died reach out to us.

He has experienced more than one hundred sightings of the shadow people, or black ghosts. He credits guardian angels with saving him from harm or certain death on a number of occasions..."
